October Afternoon

“October Afternoon” is one of my favorite images in the gallery. However, it’s not purely because of it’s aesthetic qualities but rather because of the memories it brings back. As the title suggests, it was taken on an October afternoon. A Saturday more specifically. I was in Alberta visiting the farm of a good friend of mine. We decided to go for a walk and luckily enough I had my camera with me. I loved the way the yellow leaves were looking against the blue of the sky but I didn’t really see anything that said “take my picture". That is until we rounded a bend and we came upon this scene. I can’t say that there was any one particular thing that drew me to this scene but if I did have to choose it would probably be a combination of the leading lines and the mixture of colors.
