Focus Stacking
A little while ago I introduced to you a new technique called the Brenizer Method. I thought it was a really interesting technique and I actually plan on attempting it this weekend (I’ll post my results next week sometime). The concept behind the Brenizer Method is that by taking multiple shots of a subject with the appropriate aperture and merging them together in a program like Photoshop, you can achieve shots with stunning bokeh that no regular lens on the market today could recreate. Well today, I have a new technique that is similar in that you take multiple shots of a subject and merge them together. However, the idea behind this one is to obtain as sharp a shot as possible with your macro photography.
Below is a short video where Peter Bargh explains how to shoot, and then what software will combine the shots to give you ultra sharp results. Now, the software that Peter uses is not the only one on the market. Photoshop is quite capable in this situation as you were able to see in the video demonstrating the Brenizer Method. These days there are many options available that fit most any budget to complete this task.
I’d love to see any results you guys have had practicing these different techniques. If you have tried either focus stacking or the Brenizer Method feel free to email me any results you would like to share. I’d love to post all our results sometime.
