Photography is a creative endeavor and should not be rushed.  Yet so many of us fall into the trap of shooting off the cuff and hoping that one of our shots turn out.  You are going to totally miss the point if you are chasing down the sunset or rushing to capture the sunrise at the last minute.  High quality landscape photography usually requires that you take a slow methodical approach.  This is why it is important that you consider getting to your shoot location well in advance of the time you actually expect to shoot.
