Artshots: Juried Photographic Arts Show for B.C. Artists
The Delta Arts Council of British Columbia is inviting all BC photographers to participate in the province-wide annual juried photographic exhibition. Entry is open to all levels of BC photographers, artists may submit up to 9 prints of their own work within the 4 categories: Monochromatic, Colour, Creative and Youth (up to grade 12). Awards include cash prizes, gold and bronze medals sponsored by the Canadian Association of Photographic Art (CAPA) and the top 13 prints will be shown on www.deltaartscouncil.com and exhibited at the Delta Municiple Hall from December 2009 until February 2010. Image International 2009: Canada’s Annual Photo Contest
Photo Life magazine invite all levels of photographers, amateur to professional worldwide, to participate in the highly sought after photography competition: Image International 2009. Now in its 13th year, Image international offers contestants more than $50,000 in prizes including some of today’s hottest photo equipment, the chance to see their image(s) published in Canada’s leading photography magazine and the grand prize of a 9-day cruise expedition for two into the Canadian Arctic (estimated at $14,500). Participants are invited to submit their most original entries in the following categories: People, Nature, and Travel. The winning images will be chosen by a panel of photography professionals; 31 images will be selected in total, 10 in each category with one grand prize winner. Participants can enter the contest and submit images on-line at www.photolife.com. Entries are also accepted by post. Deadline for participating is September 30, 2009.
